Cameron Taylor
Born in the Orkney Islands, educated in the classics at the University of Aberdeen, and now based in Moray in Scotland, Cameron has more than twenty years’ experience in the tourism and heritage sectors.
His career has seen him work in senior roles in tourism destination management, with a particular emphasis on community and ancestral tourism. As a consultant, he has worked in Canada, Scotland and Europe as a senior member of teams looking to review and create public tourism policy.
He has taught tourism-related courses at the University of the Highlands, and authored books as diverse as "Rooted in Scotland", a guide to researching one's Scottish heritage, and "On the Trail of the Real Macbeth", a history of one of Scotland's most famous kings.
Now he divides his time between consultancy, teaching and writing. He has a particular interest in ancestral tourism, and in transmedia storytelling.
